The exhibition deals with the subjects of femininity and the removing of the organic matter.
Tamminen’s artworks draw out of fragility, figuratif and doom. She aims to illustrate the subjective moods and states of mind, emotions to be observed as objectively comfortable.
“Of course I try to manage my material. But if the porcelain body wants to break, I’ll manage it later. For me, it feels like looking at an empty champagne bottle, emptied a long while ago, but you still decided to keep it.”
“Some of the works were created consuming strawberry ice cream with cigarettes. Last summer was for this green Kingis ice cream sandwiches with coffee and a stolen mint cigarette for breakfast. Then there was the period of the raspberry ice cream with Lucky Strikes - winter, one a year ago.”
